I just was diagnosed with small airway disease and stage 2 copd it has been progressing pretty fast said I have 5 years maybe more if lung transplant is possible at that time I smoked since I was 12 I did quit in 2014 but did that by vaping and that really did some damage I’m 45 now and have to tell the people that love me how sick I am and how that is going to hurt them because I can’t hide it anymore if you smoke or vape stop it’s really not worth you don’t want to get this disease

When I was 14 I was so nihilistic and depressed that I intently prayed to God that he would just take my life , take me home . 10 years later , after smoking pot and cigarettes like a fiend for 7 years … I am feeling some serious issues in my chest . Extremely fatigued , can barely eat . Guess my heart never changed . I am ready to die , even so , without ever finding love .

My husband has Copd went in and ambulance.....And now he's in ICU there treating him for possible pnuemonia .....And giving him oxygen not breathing well .......

I’ve been smoking weed for 2 years now I don’t know if I should stop or not, I used to cough up black and then stoped. It gets rid of my severe anxiety and stress

23 been smoking since 18 smoking cig for a few months many years ago but then quit I’ve smoked weed and thc carts . Also have history of asthma . For the past two months I’ve hade a president cough , mucus build up and wheezing have not gotten to the point of shortness of breath but I’m sure I’m in early stages of copd . I’ve went to emergency room as I do not have insurance yet I’m working on it so I can see a pulmonologist. And get a breathing test because all the er does is says everything normal because they can’t see on X-ray and give me steroids and asthma medicine. I know I have copd because the asthma medicine only makes me feel a lil better for a bout an hour and this will be my third round of steroids in the past two months . Itll get worse over time and I will die smh I always knew in my heart I would not live long and it’s true ... if anyone got some kinda hope they wanna leave go ahead but feeling very depressed sad hopeless . I’m done smoking pot and I’m very over weight so gonna start going on small walks hopefully that help me live a few more years. My anxiety is going up and I’m having heart palpitations because I think about that death bed , taking that last breath . not knowing what’s next a after life or just forever darkness . Also that it’ll be a miserable death almost worst than cancer can’t even enjoy ur finally days with family and friends because you can hardly move or get outta bed . Ur breathing will be so low better to just kill urself when u get to that point honestly . smh what a horrible world we live in just here to live until we die . Sad thing is I have a girlfriend of three years I love so dearly she has no idea the Road we are about to face. that is if she doesn’t leave me due to the stress . Then I’ll have to go stay with my mother who smokes cigs and smell second hand smoke everyday . don’t bother saying it could be something else because it’s been two months every single day taking three breathing treatments , and using inhaler constantly just to clear airways . Went to er today hade sum useless blood test done and another X-ray says it’s normal but the er is useless when it comes to early stages I’m probably in about stage two . crazy how there’s no cure because it seems like something that should be able to be stopped . I will give updates just please give advice to me and pray for me 😓

I had to quit my job cause of breathing problems. I went to doc. they filmed my lungs. Nothing found. I bet it is COPD cause my grandad died to it at age of 57

My grandad has smoked since he was 11 years old and had been diagnosed with COPD around 8 years ago it never bothered him for a long time but the last 2 years it really started to effect him. He would stand out of his chair take 3 steps and clench his chest trying to catch a breath. He wasn’t the same smartly dressed loving man I had known my whole life. When he was in the hospital he weighed only 5 stone due to him not eating cause of the COPD. He passed away last January i plead to everyone who has a family member or friend who’s a heavy smoker please do everything you can to get them to stop smoking

My mum was diagnosed with COPD some 10 years a so ago and was told if she didn't quit smoking she'd have 5 years but if she quit around 15 years. She never quit smoking, her breathing over the years just worsened and 6 years later she was diagnosed with bowel cancer, after treatment to all our amazement she beat cancer, however she lost so much weight and muscle that any kind of activity was harder on her, her stomach had shrunken so much she coils only eat small portions of food, she was never able to gain the weight 4 years on from beating cancer. I was so used to her having good and bad days with her breathing but for a week her breathing was really bad and she refused to go to hospital because she was so scared of covid 19 and as always said ill get through this. Then unexpected to us all my stepfather awoke in the morning and my mother was dead. Her last words to him was I'm not going to die on you 😢 that was just 6 weeks ago and I miss her terribly, it's been the worst time of my life however knowing she is no longer suffering from this awful condition and can now finally be at peace gives me huge comfort. I smoke myself but am now trying to quit for her as I know she's watching over me and wouldn't want me to go through the same fate
